Plattensport celebrates Studio Barnhus' new EP with a mix from Swedish Lukas Nystrand von Unge.

Lukas is no newcomer to the crowded European house scene: he's been making music since 1987 (were you even born then?)! Lukas Nystrand von Unge, who's that? Actually the Swedish producer has been operating under tens of aliases over the years, but this time he's releasing a new EP under his real name.

Last Friday saw the release of Lukas' EP No. 2, his second EP for Studio Barnhus, the Stockholm-based label also home to releases from no other than John Talabot, Matt Karmil, HNNY, and Axel Boman.

The six-track EP is anchored in the current European disco house sound, it sounds warm and makes you want to shake your booty. All the boxes have been ticked: funky bongos, looped vocal samples, in your face high-hats, and deep synth melodies, reminiscent of the work of English producer Leon Vynehall, Germany's own Money $ex Records, or the Dutch Outplay label.

We're celebrating the release with a mix from Lukas in the first hour of the show, followed by a mix from our own Kölncampus resident DJs.
